Research
Dara Krolpfeifer is involved in the GoNaturePositive! project that aims at promoting a nature-positive economy in the European Union among policymakers, investors, businesses, and society at large.
Dara's research focusses on assessing the extent to which Europe's economy is nature-positive and identifying the data sources that underpin this evidence.
Profile
Dara Krolpfeifer studied Economics at the University of Münster and the University of Göttingen in Germany, with semesters abroad in the Netherlands and South Africa. During her studies, she focused on the interaction between environmental and economic systems.
After completing her degree, she worked at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), the University of Luxembourg, and the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Information Technology. In these roles, she gained experience in researching climate-induced migration, data analysis, and microsimulation.
Dara joined the Environmental Social Science and Geography section of the Department of Environmental Science as a PhD student in September 2024.
Cooperation and dissemination
Dara Krolpfeifer is part of the Horizon Europe funded project "GoNaturePositive!" (2024-2027).
This project is coordinated by Trinity College Dublin and involves 20 partners across 14 countries, represented by research institutions, non-profits and environmental organisations who are leading the nature-positive agenda at global and European levels.
