Personal profile

Research

I research animal behaviour and welfare, primarily in pigs. My work covers the entire production chain from birth to slaughter, using behaviour both as a welfare indicator and as a subject of study in its own right.

I have studied causes of piglet mortality, the role of the gut-brain axis in tail biting, welfare challenges in cull sow transport, and feeding strategies for suckling and weaned piglets.
