My main research interest is pathology of rust and mildew pathogens on cereals. My research focus on the infection biology of these pathogens, and on macroscopic and microscopic phenotyping of host resistance. Furthermore, I am involved in projects dealing with epidemiology and management of rust diseases including aspects of pathogen genetics, population biology and pathogen aggressiveness. My expertise includes advanced and conventional microscopy techniques to study host-pathogen interactions, management and planning of field and greenhouse trials and disease assessments techniques.
