Research and teaching interests

  1. Management of buyer-supplier (B2B) relationships: Resource mobilization, adaptation and coordination, cooperation, portfolio management and segmentation, value creation and appropriation etc.
  2. Management/governance of Interorganizational Relationships
  3. Strategic sourcing/purchasing: Supply strategy, supply risk management, category management, purchasing organization, supplier selection and evaluation etc.
  4. Social exchange processes in buyer-supplier relationships: Conflict management, attractiveness, trust, commitment, motivation, power/influence, relational norms and expectations etc.
  5. Strategic sourcing: Global sourcing, outsourcing, make/buy decisions, organizational boundary decisions, boundary spanning etc.
  6. Entrepreneurial and small company purchasing

 

The main research areas of interest are industrial (B2B) marketing and purchasing, positioned between the broader Marketing and Operations Management fields.

I also rely on theories from the literature on Interorganizational Relationships – such as the Relational View, Resource Dependency Theory, Transaction Cost Economics, Strategic Alliances, Agency Theory. As well as theories on interpersonal relationships in B2B exchange – originating in fields such as Social Psychology, Social Exchange, Sociology, and Organizational Behaviour.
