Personal profile
Profile
I am a postdoctoral/senior researcher in the HemeLab research group at the Department of Hematology, Aarhus University Hospital. My research focuses on improved diagnostics in myeloid hematological malignancies, with a particular emphasis on dysplasia assessment, imaging flow cytometry, and the integration of artificial intelligence. I have implemented imaging flow cytometry in HemeLab and am dedicated to exploring its diagnostic potential within the complex field of hematology. I lead projects aimed at rethinking diagnostic approaches in myelodysplastic neoplasms and acute myeloid leukemia through morphometric analysis of neoplastic cells. I hold a PhD from the Faculty of Health at Aarhus University and a degree in Biology from the same institution. I am a member of the International Society for Advancement of Cytometry and serve as vice chair of the Danish Society for Flow Cytometry.
Job responsibilities
My primary responsibilities include the planning and coordination of research projects related to imaging flow cytometry, with a particular focus on distinguishing between healthy and malignant myeloid cells in blood and bone marrow samples. This involves the development and application of advanced gating strategies, the training and evaluation of artificial intelligence models, statistical data analysis, and methodological troubleshooting. In addition to my research activities, I am involved in securing research funding, teaching, and supervising students at various academic levels.
