Professor Bodil Marie Stavning Thomsen's research is specialized in Nordic culture and media. Her actual research focus is the philosophy of affect and events in relation to haptic visuality and readings in the films of Lars von Trier, performative realism and interface culture. Was primary investigator of Affects, Interfaces, Events (2016-2021), Realisme, reality, the real in visuel media (1999-2002), and leader of EU-hub in Erin Manning's canadian project, Media, Art and Events (2013-2021).
