Personal profile

Profile

I am a plant scientist with expertise in fruit crop physiology and sustainable fruit production, focusing on the improvement of productivity and environmental resilience in fruit trees and berries. To this end, I use an integrative research approach that combines physiological (e.g. IRGA, chlorophyll fluorescence, pressure chamber, 13C-labeling), analytical (HPLC, LC-MS, GC-MS, spectrophotometry), and molecular (e.g. qPCR) tools to understand the mechanisms that control fruit yield and quality under both optimal and suboptimal growing conditions. I then apply this basic knowledge to inform horticultural management practices and develop production systems that improve resource use efficiency, abiotic/biotic stress tolerance, and productivity in a sustainable manner.
