Personal profile

Job responsibilities

Educational Developer at Aarhus University, Denmark since 2010.

In my role as an educational developer, I focus on three key areas:

  • Assessment and Feedback
  • Teaching and Learning in Higher Education
  • International Collaboration

Assessment and Feedback

My work in assessment and feedback encompasses research, teaching, and administrative efforts aimed at improving feedback processes and aligning them with effective learning practices.

Research: I am currently engaged in a collaborative research project exploring university teachers’ ability to design effective feedback processes, with a particular focus on teacher feedback literacy. This project involves partners from universities in Norway, Australia, and Denmark. Additionally, my research includes exploring how feedback design can better support low-performing students.

Teaching and Learning: Assessment and feedback are central themes in the pedagogical programs and workshops I deliver for university staff, including PhD students, assistant professors, lecturers, and study boards. Depending on the audience, participants actively design feedback processes, assessment strategies, or smaller-scale assessment and feedback activities.

Administration: In light of advancements such as generative AI, universities are re-evaluating assessment practices. I am actively contributing to these discussions at Danish universities, advocating for a stronger emphasis on assessment for learning over traditional summative practices.

Teaching and Learning in Higher Education

At Aarhus University, I design and deliver workshops and courses for university teachers across all career levels. These programs focus on key areas such as: Constructive alignment, small class teaching, assessment for learning, feedback designs, educational technology and active learning

The workshops and courses are highly interactive, incorporating activities where participants design, implement, and reflect on teaching interventions tailored to their own teaching practices. These interventions are supported through individual supervision and ongoing dialogue with me and my colleagues.

As an educational developer, I also engage in one-on-one consultations with university teachers, helping them address challenges and implement meaningful changes in their teaching strategies.

International Collaboration

I actively lead initiatives to strengthen partnerships between the Centre for Educational Development and international collaborators. For example, I have drawn inspiration from the Masters of Didactics in Excellent Teaching capacity-building project for Polish university educators to develop new collaborative efforts.

In addition, I serve as the course coordinator and instructor for the Professional Development for Teachers programs offered at The Oslo School of Architecture and Design, Norway and The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of Architecture, Design, and Conservation in Denmark

Through these programs, I work with educators to enhance their teaching practices, fostering professional growth and cross-institutional exchange of ideas.
