Description
The purpose of the course is to provide the students with (a) knowledge of relevant theories and models within the field of social and cultural history, (b) an understanding of how relevant theories and models can be used in historical analyses, (c) practice in working with historical source material with a focus on theories and models and (d) a general understanding of how theories and models shape the practice within the academic field of history.The course provides an introduction to two thematically separate theory and model formations, shows how they can be used in historical analyses in a given field and provides the students with practice in using the theories and models on historical source material.
The course is a methodological course meant to provide the students with an understanding of how theories and models affect the practice of the academic field of history.
