EUROPEAN DAY OF LANGUAGES: SPECIALIST FROM UNIVERSITY OF AARHUS ON DO’S AND DON’TS IN SPECIALIZED LANGUAGE

Press/Media: Press / Media

Description

School, lesson, the monologue of the teacher, which seems to be in a completely incomprehensible language; unintentionally overheard conversation between two IT-specialists, and once again we can’t understand anything. There comes the question, what is the difference between the specialized and the general language. Is it still the same language? One of the persons who will try to answer these and more questions is Birthe Mousten from the University of Aarhus, who will deliver the lecture “Specialized Language for Specialized Audiences – 6 do’s, 3 don’ts and a special point!”. The lecture will be part of the conference “Languages for specific purposes” held on 20 September in Warsaw. Birthe Mousten has been invited by the Danish Cultural Institute.
