Description

Roman roads remain a popular research topic for archaeologists and historians, building on enormous amounts of scholarly work over the past two hundred years. In this workshop we explore where the field is now and where it can go. What are the state-of-the-art methods and approaches to study Roman roads and their wider historical, economical and landscape context? What new data are available to us, or how can we analyse heritage data in innovative ways? What are the current prospects in research of Roman travel infrastructure and travel economies?
