National network of the special program Ideas (European Research Council, ERC)

In connection with the EC 7th Framework Programme (2007-2013), the Commission appointed 19 Programme commitees within the framework of 4 special programmes. Each committee authorizes the annual Specific Programmes in their area of expertise, authorizes project applications, that are nominated for financial support, and monitors the implimentation of the 7th Framework Programme. In support of the Programme committees, the Ministry of Research and Innovation established a virtual network for each of the 19 Programme committees. The function of the networks is to serve as contacts between research environments and the Programme committees as well as the Ministry of Research and Innovation; to advise the Ministry and the members of the Programme committees on areas and problems with the 7th Framework Programme that should be addressed; and to respond on areas where special information campaigns should be developed. The members of the network were invited on the basis of their personal qualities rather than as representatives of an organization or institution.
