Supply Chain Management is highly critical to most organizations of any size dealing with anything in the physical world. Organizations highly dependent on well functioning SCM might benefit tremendously from making an Enterprise Architecture that respects/regards the potentials and limitations of controlling and influencing the individual steps of the supply chain. It is characteristic, that for many organizations, the most of the Supply Chain lies outside of the companies physical and legal boundaries, anyhow the organization must rely on all of the Supply Chain. Enterprise Architecture do contribute signifiicantly to this.
