UPRIGHT: Universal Preventive Resilience Interventions Globally implemented in schools to improve and promote mental Health for Teenagers

Based on the UPRIGHT theoretical framework and a co-creation phase involving students, teachers and parents an intervention-program for building resilience and wellbeing and preventing mental illness in teenagers was co-created. The Danish research-team was in charge of the process, editing the manual: Well-being for US for the implementation phase with contribution from all UPRIGHT-regions (Spain, Italy, Poland, Denmark and Iceland) on school year 2018-19. Currently ongoing are both the second wave of the intensive program and the follow up phase. The Well-being for ALL program, which was later created and edited by the Icelandic and the Spanish teams. The UPRIGHT-program consists of the two manuals, PowerPoint slides showing theoretical points and student exercises, handouts and student worksheets. It includes links for videos illustrating competences, relevant videos/films and mindfulness-audios. Selecting relevant exercises for the program demanded pivotal considerations:
- Using evidence-based exercises, which have proven effective?
- Using exercises from professionals within the field?
- Constructing exercises by UPRIGHT partners?

The purpose was to create an intervention program, which is highly effect-full by securing a variety of methods; from traditional school exercises to exercises requiring technology, collaboration, creativity and innovation.

Methods, results and conclusion:
The UPRIGHT-program was co-created and validated by students, families and teachers in order to co-design and co-customize the UPRIGHT programme and the aim is to enhance wellbeing, resilience and prevent mental health problems.
The validation phase has included:

1) Initial participant validation
2) Internal audit
3) Final validation of the manual by participants.
