N2 - This paper explores the role of intuition in the adoption of data-driven ap-proaches in design within the broad domain of user experience design. To better un-derstand the relationship between intuition and data-driven approaches, we con-ducted a quantitative online study (n=141). Contributions include a review of currentpractices in data-driven design and an analysis of how predispositions for intuitionpredict the use of data-driven approaches. Results indicate that the majority of UXdesigners have increased their use of data-driven approaches, but designers’ prefer-ence for thinking intuitively could not provide insights into causes related to uptakein data-driven methods.
