N2 - Across Europe, cultural centers engage citizens in a variety of artistic and social activities. But what are the characteristics of cultural centers, what kinds of citizen participation take place in them, and to what effects? This has been investigated in RECcORD, a European research project involving 38 cultural centers and Birgit Eriksson, Carsten Stage and Camilla Møhring Reestorff from Aarhus University. The film “The RECcORD Project”, made by GotFat Productions, presents some of the findings and provides new knowledge about cultural centers and citizen participation.
