Sustainable culture for change: working paper

Culture for Change is a development and research project intended to contributing to the development of the quality of projects launched under the program THE VELUX FOUNDATIONS' European VET Development Initiative (EVI). The aim of the program is to contribute to the quality development of the vocational education and training in the four Visegrad countries: Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.
The developmental part of the project includes support to the individual development projects with a view to producing reliable results. The results are supposed to be of use at the individual schools and in a wider perspective, to contribute to the development of the national vocational education and training programs.
The research part of the project focuses on a systematic collection of data with a view to gathering new knowledge about the prerequisites for accomplishing a qualified development work.
The project is headed by a research team at Aarhus University and is financed by VILLUM FONDEN/THE VELUX FOUNDATIONS. It is implemented in collaboration with eight national development projects, all of which are financed by VILLUM FONDEN/THE VELUX FOUNDATIONS. The purpose of this working paper is to present the experience and knowledge gathered during the first 18 months of work. The intention is that this material may be of use by the grant giver and by current and future project owners, project managers and project consultants in their work to get the best possible benefit from development projects. The intention is that the material should contribute to creating sustainable improvements, and thus create a culture for the individual schools, which includes a permanent change strategy, a 'Culture for Change'.
