Abstract
This paper presents the main objectives, future vision and the achievements of a multidisciplinary project called STARDUST. STARDUST Project targets on development of a novel ultrasonically powered implant enabling in-vivo optogenetics, localized drug delivery, and neural recording in freely moving animals, all in one single micro-scale device. The envisioned implant will be used as a novel treatment for Parkinson’s Disease by providing optogenetics stimuli and localized drug delivery in external Globous Pallidus. This paper covers the achievements so far from the technological point of view.
