Solidarity in the Key of Life. An educational value that combines critique and hope.

Publikation: KonferencebidragPaperForskningpeer review

‘Solidarity in the key of life’ expresses the idea that human beings share the responsibility for the environment of the globe and the good life of all living beings. The concept ‘solidarity in the key of life’ elaborates on the idea of solidarity and turns it into a view of mutual human responsibility for life on the globe. I will argue that the notion of ‘solidarity in the key of life’ should be a value of practice in educational processes to deal with challenges concerning the global environment and climate change in a school setting.

The paper draws on Jedediay Purdy, Wolfgang Klafki, Henry Giroux, Hannah Arendt and Nicolai Hartmann.
