N2 - In the last two decades the volatility and complexity of industrial dynamics, and subsequently uncertainties of asset-centric organizations, have increased challenging the risk and value profiles of asset owners and operators. Changing socio-economic, political and commercial circumstances increase the uncertainties of new and operating assets. In such industrial contexts, new perspectives are in demand in order to improve upon the strategic capabilities of asset-centric organizations. Amidst subsequently growing focus on modern collaborative solutions and new business models in some sectors, this paper explores, defines, and elaborates on the notion of industrial agility as a core strategic capability for continuous competitive performance when engineering assets are embedded within a dedicated industrial eco-system to deliver complex objectives.
