Abstract

The INTERACT Reducing the Environmental Impacts of Arctic Fieldwork guidebook provides an overview of general environmental impacts and recommendations on how to reduce these of research activities in the Arctic and northern cold regions. The book is produced by managers of the >85 research stations embedded in the INTERACT network. The target audience are scientists working in northern cold regions often challenged by remote locations, harsh climate and pristine environment. It provides recommendations for considerations to be made when planning fieldwork, at the research station, in the field and post fieldwork evaluation.
