Abstract

The main finding presented in the paper is that children’s articulation of experiences and knowledge in drawings in collaborative encounters with peers and adults can propel children's authentic participation in democratic processes. Discussion focus on, how pedagogues can foster and attend to such processes of articulation, and how they can empower their attentive repertoires to foster children’s authentic participation in democratic processes in ECEC.
Aesthetic practices in ECEC have democratic potentials to develop in practice and in education of pedagogues, where knowledge of aesthetic articulation and democratic processes is pivotal.
The study contributes to an aesthetic pedagogy for democracy in ECEC-practice.
