Abstract
In this article I argue that —at some level of abstraction— the clause and the noun phrase have the same underlying semantic structure. Both constructions can be analysed in terms of three notions: quality, quantity, and locality. I will also propose a new classification of nominal subcategories, which I regard as different Seinsarten of the same spatial property, and show that certain so-called number markers are better analyzed as nominal aspect markers.
