Abstract
Desulfobacter hydrogenophilus strain AcRS1 is a mesophilic sulfate-reducing bacterium isolated from marine sediment. Here we present the complete genome sequence of D. hydrogenophilus AcRS1 which consists of a circular chromosome of 5,105,135 bp length and two plasmids of 45,346 bp and 6889 bp length. The genome data provide insights into the metabolic potential that allows these sulfate-reducing microorganisms to thrive in the cold subseafloor.
