Abstract

Although the Chabauty compactification of parahoric subgroups is well studied in a general setting, for the particular case of SL(n,Q_p) we give a different and more geometric proof of some of the results in Guivarc'h and Rémy (2006) using the Levi decompositions of various parabolic subgroups of SL(n,Q_p).
