COVID-19 affected societies around the globe and governments had to find immediate ways to deal with challenges arising in the wake of the pandemic, not least the consequences of lock-downs for enterprises and employees. In this context, adult education emerged as a solution to labour market problems induced by COVID-19. In this chapter, we examine Danish adult education policy since the outbreak of COVID-19 studying the pandemic as a policy window for policy entrepreneurs to push for adult education policies. We investigate frontstage and backstage politics looking into policy entrepreneurs pushing for policy agendas in the media debate and into the many tripartite agreements entered during the lock-downs. We address the research question of whether or not the pandemic as a window of opportunity led to a rethinking of adult education policy in Denmark.
