Beskrivelse

Dietary intake and gut physiology of hosts determine the amount and type of nutrients reaching the gut which impact composition and function of the gut microbiota. This project aims to employ a ubiquitous intestinal enzyme, glycerol/diol dehydratase (GDH) utilizing glycerol and 1,2-propanediol, to investigate the linkage of microbiota specific functional microbial traits with the animal hosts.
