This project aims to scale up the production of Mimica Touch (MT) labels an inclusive, accurate & responsive alternative to wasteful expiry dates. Consumers are likely to lack trust or have wasteful ‘blind faith’ in the current fixed-date system. Mimica provides an intelligent way to indicate freshness. We want to develop universal compatibility of the flat label format, so that after this project we can rapidly scale up deployment to various food groups and packaging formats, allowing consumers to benefit from MT on as many products as possible. To build on this, we will conduct consumer work with Aarhus University, further exploring trust and behavior change.
