Risk and Prognosis of Pilonidal Sinus Disease. An interdisciplinary approach including epidemiological and clinical trial research

This Ph.D. study will uncover completely new knowledge about a large patient group. Through three registry studies, we will shed light on the prevalence, onset, risk of recurrence, and heredity of the disease in the Danish population. Additionally, we will investigate whether a new treatment method involving fat cell transplantation can be used in the surgical treatment of complex pilonidal disease.
