Beskrivelse

PhragNet is network of scientists working with the globally distributed genus Phragmites as a model organism to understand the effects of global environmental change on plant species distributions, range expansions and species invasions. The aim of the network is to work in an interdisciplinary platform to increase our understanding of the effects of global environmental change on species distributions, range expansions and the long-term ecological and evolutionary effects of these changes on higher trophic levels.
The project aims to improve the understanding of the effects of global environmental change, including climate and land use changes, on species distributions, range expansion and plant invasions, and plant-herbivore interactions. The research is centered on a novel model organism – the wetland grass Phragmites – grown in common garden settings in Europe and North America.
