Outside Citizenship: The making and integration of denizen

Beskrivelse
A growing number of the population are settled non-citizens who for example are not allowed to vote at national elections. How does the integration requirements affect these settled non-citizens?
How does the requirements affect immigrants desire to be a full member of society? How does the requirements affect immigrants’ integration – both in the labor market, politically and socially?
Perhaps more difficult or even impossible requirements cause some to give up entirely?
The project examines these questions using data from registers, surveys, and in-depth qualitative interviews with settled non-citizens - among both well integrated immigrants that meet the requirements and among immigrants for who the requirements are insuperable.
