Low Emission zone in Denmark

Projekter: ProjektForskning

Projektdetaljer

Beskrivelse

The purpose of low emission zones is to reduce urban air pollution and associated health risks. The Danish law about environmental zones allows the five largest urban municipalities to define zones and to require particle filters on heavy-duty vehicles with emission standard Euro 2 or older by September 1, 2008 and with emission standard Euro 3 or older by July 1, 2010. An impact assessment study 2008-2011 is carried out for air quality based on dispersion models for urban background and street canyons, as well as, an eight week air quality measurement campaign in a busy street including PM10, PM2.5, particle number concentrations (ToN), NOx, CO, and supplemented with selected OC/EC and PAH measurements. Receptor modelling will be used to analyse source apportionment. Carried out for the Danish EPA. Project period January 2006 to June 2011.
