The purpose of this project is to assess the damage mechanism of high frequency mechanical impact
treatment of welded joints for lightweight design.
The project was granted in February 2016. I stared to carry out investigations for HiLife in September
2017, where Interdisciplinary collaboration. was held in between institutions, EPFL in Switzerland,
Aalto University and Meyer Turku Shipyard in Finland, The Institut Laue-Langevin- ILL and SONATS
in France, ISIS Neutron and Muon Source in the UK
