Developing a policy-relevant research agenda for biodiversity and trade

The activities proposed will conclude the work initiated by the biodiversity and trade sub-group of the PEER ‘Biodiversity roadmap’ strategic area in developing the research agenda on biodiversity and trade. The outcome of this work will be captured in a perspective paper on a policy-relevant research agenda for biodiversity and trade. This concrete output can be used to 1) raise awareness of the knowledge gaps related to biodiversity and trade among EU and other decision-makers, and influence agenda setting for future research funding calls by e.g. the European Commission; and to 2) catalyze new scientific research, collaboration and initiatives within the PEER network and beyond, to strengthen the knowledge base required to tackle the biodiversity impacts of international trade.
