Beginning last year, awards and recognitions for CSCW are based on nominations by ACs and reviewers during the paper review processes, and chosen by a separate Awards Committee later. The awards evaluation process is blinded, and the committee members score papers based on both their own evaluation and the evaluations of the original reviewers, including reasons given for nominations.

Best Paper Awards represent 1% of all submitted papers.
