Research Interests:

My research interests lies at macro- and community ecology, including the patterns of beta-diversity, species richness and range size of species, and the processes controlling these patterns. During my graduate study, I investigated the relative roles of species abundance and spatial aggregation in explaining the latitudinal gradients in beta-diversity. Now, I seek to understand the spatial and taxonomical variation of species range size. By using the species abundance modelling and phylogenetic and trait-based analyses, I attempt to separate the relative importance of historical and contemporary factors. I also want to address whether biological interaction shapes the biodiversity patterns and whether the intensity of this interaction varies with latitudinal or environmental gradients.
