Valentina Beatini is part of the Tectonic research group, Innovative Structures unit.
She holds a Ph.D. in Form and Structures of Architecture from the University of Parma (2011), and a first-grade M.Sc. degree in Architecture from the University of Genova (2007). She growth her research experience as a Post-Doc fellow in Kinetic Structures at Izmir Institute of Technology (2012). Before joining Aarhus University, she has been Senior Lecturer at Northumbria University, Dept. of Architecture, and Assnt. Professor at Abdullah Gul University, Dept. of Architecture. She had been working in practice alongside her academic activity also within international competitions -winning groups.
She is interested in exploring the interplay of form and forces, currently focusing on kinetic and adaptable structures, dynamics of masonry assemblies, and related geometrical optimization.
