2015: The Bagger-Sørensen Prize, awarded to a highly qualified researcher who is internationally recognized on grounds of biometrical evaluation.

2014: The Marie and August Krogh Prize, awarded yearly to an outstanding Danish researcher by the Organization of Danish Medical Societies and the Novo Nordisk Foundation.

2013: The Camillo Golgi Prize. This price is awarded by the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD). The prize is awarded for outstanding contributions in the field of the histopathology, pathogenesis, prevention and treatment of the complications of diabetes mellitus.

2009: Awarded Grocer Bernhard Rasmussen and Meta Rasmussen’s Memorial Grant.

2004: Laura and Jens Veng Christensens grant. Honorary grant for medical researchers.

2015: Member of the executive committee of The Danish Centre for Strategic Research in type 2-diabetes (DD2). The aim of this initiative is to normalize metabolism in people with newly detected type 2 diabetes.
