Ronah Sadan

My research background is primarily rooted in Northern Renaissance art, with a focus on drawings and prints in their function as epistemic images in the 16th century. Within that field, I've been also interested in artistic grapplings with the creative forces of nature, especially through depictions of monstrosity. I examined this dynamic specifically in the art of Albrecht Dürer, whose engraving The Monstrous Sow of Landser was the subject of my MA thesis (Harvard University, 2012).
