There is a global coordinated move for Digital Switchover (DSO) by discontinuing analogue TV transmission. In India the frequency band 470-806 MHz has been allotted to Fixed, mobile broadcasting services on primary basis and 698-806 MHz more specific 700MHz band mainly used by TV broadcast services.
