Massimo Fiorentini is an Associate Professor at the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering, Aarhus University. He holds a Bachelors and Master’s Degree from Politecnico di Milano in Mechanical Engineering. He obtained his PhD from University of Wollongong, Australia, collaborating with research scientists from the CSIRO Energy Centre. Massimo started his career at ABB as a Product Manager, and continued as a Research Scientist, first at the Sustainable Buildings Research Centre (SBRC), University of Wollongong, and then at Empa - Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology, in the Urban Energy Systems Laboratory. His research focuses on energy systems design and operational optimization, and advanced control strategies for building energy management. He was a member of the Standards Australia EL-054 committee (Demand Response) and of International Energy Agency EBC Annexes.
