Computer technician placed in the secretariat department with direct reference to the director of secretariat. 

Area of responsibility and main assignments

The main responsibility are developing, implementing and maintaining data systems that collect and treat data from different platforms ranging from stable equipment to laboratory analysers.

Active and present assignments

  • Participant in the department's IT group and data group, where the main goal is optimal and secure data capture (basis data) from the research facilities, arrangement of data, effective data approach, quality assurance of data from data capture to data approach and current control of this; suggestion of optimisation of the use of resources and investments for appropriate data registration and data administration.
  • Participation in ongoing research and development project - ad hoc and/or in project teams.
  • Handling various ad hoc assignments in the department in consultation with the director of secretariat.

Examples of projects

  • Securing data from The Intelligent Farrowing stable. Project is terminated 
  • Milksampler robot development, system is currently under reevaluation.
  • Halmforsøg. Complete sollution to enable measurement of temperature in each pigsty 48 in total.

Main working areas in my position at DJF

  • Development of new systems to collect data from existing or new equipment used in the research stables and laboratories. The development includes selection or development of the hardware necessary to interface the equipment. The development tools ranges from soldering irons to complex software solutions developed in Visual Studio.
  • Maintenance and faultfinding of existing equipment
  • Technical advisor for the researchers and external companies
  • Ad hoc IT support
