Teaching: Various undergraduate and graduate courses, such as Invertebrate Zoology, Aquatic Biology/Marine Ecology, Experimental Parasitology, Experimental Coastal Ecology. Acting as teacher and project supervisor on international Master of Science programmes offered by Aarhus University. Continuously supervisor of Project, Bachelor, MSc and PhD students. Funding: After receiving a scholarship from the Carlsberg Foundation during my Master of Science, my research has been continuously funded by the Carlsberg Foundation, the Danish Natural Science Council (SNF/FNU), the Marsden Fund (New Zealand), the WWF/Novozymes Research Grant, the Aarhus University Research Foundation, EU (Horizon 2020), in addition to a range of smaller grants and prizes. Key expertise & interests: coastal soft and hard-bottom ecology, including (1) population dynamics of – and interactions between – benthic primary (micro- and macroalgae) and secondary (polychaetes, gastropods, bivalves and crustaceans) producers, (2) feeding and migration ecology of shorebirds relying on benthic plants and invertebrates as food source, (3) coastal food-web structure and function, (4) coastal host-parasite interactions, with emphasis on parasite life-cycle facilitation (parasitic manipulation) and climate-parasitism synergy on host population dynamics and host and non-host community structure. Publication key-numbers (by 2019): Total number of publications: 108, Peer-reviewed international papers: 84, Total number of citations: 2721/3917 (WoS/Google Scholar), h-index: 30/35 (WoS/Google Scholar).
