Kasper’s has a background in materials chemistry based on his Ph.D project on materials for hydrogen storage in the attempt to utilize hydrogen as an energy carrier. Kasper then went abroad to Curtin University, Perth, Australia where he focused on thermal energy storage utilizing cheap and abundant metal carbonates. Being back at Aarhus University, Kasper still focuses on thermal energy storage, but will couple materials science with engineering aspects of a complete energy storage system for storing bulk renewable energy.

I am currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Aarhus University, Denmark, as a part of the Biological and Chemical Engineering department. My research focuses on thermal energy storage materials, particularly metal carbonates. The aim of the research is to develop bulk energy storage systems for stationary applications.
