The report presents the results on effects of herbicides on plants found in natural habitats within the agricultural land. Furthermore, it evaluates whether the current risk assessment of herbicides represents an adequate safeguard for protection of these species and habitats. We found several areas where risk assessment seems to be insufficient. The most extensive conclusion is that seed production is a more
sensible end-point for risk assessment of herbicides than the currently used end-point biomass. Crop species, in general, were not less sensitive to herbicides than non-target species. Finally, we found that interactions between species are important for their responses to herbicides.
