Undervisning

My teaching experience comes from Folkeskolen (Primary & Secondary Schools, 2 yrs), Gymnasiet (High School, 3.5 yrs, Hobro, Randers, Slagelse), Lærerseminariet (Teacher College, 1 yr, Emdrupborg), Lærerhøjskolen (University College of Education, 5 yrs) and Aarhus University (1986-1988 external lecturer; 1989-1994 assistant professor; 1995-2009 associate professor; 2010- full professor). In addition, I have run courses in different contexts, e.g. Folkeuniversitetet (University Extramural) in Aarhus, Copenhagen and Odense.
• The last 10 years at AU, I have been teaching two graduate courses: Advanced Population Ecology and Evolutionary Ecology, and one undergraduate Summer School in Ecology in collaboration with others.
• I developed the undergraduate, introductory course Nature & Theory, 2002-2009, and Biologiens Forskning i Teori & Praksis (2010-) together with F. Borchsenius.
• Twice, I have been teacher on a 1-month Tropical Biology Association (TBA) course (2002 in Uganda and 2004 in Madagascar). University of Aarhus is a member of this organization. A set of European universities run courses every year in Africa and Madagascar.
• During 1990–2003, 2009-2010, I was teaching the undergraduate course: Population Ecology.
