De mest anvendte metoder i mit arbejde er fordøjeligheds- og balanceforsøg, hvor der opsamles materiale (foder, fæces, urin, blod, væv, mælk mv.). I tilknytning hertil udføres kemiske og biokemiske analyser, ligesom der ofte anvendes in vitro studier til at følge nedbrydningsprofiler over tid af fx fytat, hvor den tidsmæssige effekt på frigivelsen. Dette har stor betydning for, hvor mange fosfat-ioner, der kan absorberes af husdyrene

Animal production, nutrition and nutritional physiology of farm animals. Metabolism of nutrients with main focus on mineral availability, requirements, excretion, and utilization in farm animals.

Teaching MSc and BSc students in agro-ecology and animal nutrition and production with focus on environmental impacts. Supervisor for several PhD and MSc students.

Public Sector consultant on the utilization of phosphorus, nitrogen, zinc, copper etc. in Danish livestock production and nutrient content of manure (Ministries and ministerial authorities.
