Alonso Rosas-Hernández

Adjunkt (Tenure Track)

Curriculum Vitae

Born and raised in Mexico City, Alonso studied chemistry at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), obtaining his BS and MS degrees with research into transition metal catalysts for asymmetric C−C bond formation. He pursued doctoral training at the Leibniz Institute for Catalysis (LIKAT) in Germany under the direction of Matthias Beller. His research focused on developing molecular catalysts for the visible-light-driven conversion of carbon dioxide into fuels. He then joined the group of Jonas C. Peters as a postdoctoral scholar at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). He focussed on using hybrid molecule/metal interfaces for selective electrochemical conversion of small molecules into value-added products. In 2021, Alonso moved to Aarhus University, where he is a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry.
