Fundamentals Of Carrier Aggregation

Presse/medie

08/05/2020

Carrier aggregation refers to the combination of different spectrum bands to form a larger channel to transmit data. It is used in LTE-Advanced in order to to increase the bandwidth and thereby increase the bit rate. This feature allows mobile operators to combine or More LTE carriers into a single data channel to increase the capacity of the network and the data rate by exploiting fragmented spectrum allocations. In 5G network deployment scenario, it is anticipated that air interfaces based on millimeter wave and narrow band Cellular IOT would possible coexist with existing LTE network in carrier aggregation mode.
