This talk discussed ways of understanding religion followed by defining what prayer is and how to study it. Then a scheme with the dimensions of prayer was introduced and applied to the Lord's Prayer. The talk then moved to a description of neurocognitive approaches to ritual and prayer and finished off with some interesting experiments at the Religion, cognition and culture research unit (RCC) at Aarhus University.
